Ruth Díaz obtuvo el premio a mejor actriz
en el Festival de Venecia Orizzonti por el papel de Ana, madre inmersa en una
crisis existencial a causa del amor
Tras casi una década de espera, Raúl Arévalo ha cogido la batuta
tras las cámaras en su primer proyecto como director, ‘Tarde para la ira’. Un largometraje de
crimen, rencor y venganza en el que impera una atmósfera seca, decadente y
turbia donde destacan las interpretaciones de Antonio de la Torre, Luis Callejo
y Ruth Díaz.
Año 2007, después de ocho años encerrado
en prisión cumpliendo condena por el robo de una joyería, Curro tiene la
oportunidad de comenzar una nueva vida junto a su novia Ana y a su hijo. Un
sueño entusiasta pero breve y fallido debido a un inusual viaje donde, junto a
José, se verá obligado a lidiar con los fantasmas del pasado, cayendo de una
forma irremediable en el ‘abismo’ de la venganza. El recién estrenado realizador
destacó su deseo de “no hacer una película de buenos y malos, quería hacer una
de seres humanos”. Beatriz Martínez de Fotogramas la ha clasificado como un
“thriller indómito de venganza pura rodado a golpe de rabia, pasión y
virulencia. Sin duda una de las óperas primas más potentes que ha dado el cine
español reciente”.
Antonio de
la Torre interpreta a un misterioso José que está impregnado
por el ansia de revancha. Un trayecto en el que la violencia cruda y áspera
desempeña un protagonismo especial. El actor que dio vida a Paco en ‘Volver’,
acapara el lenguaje no verbal a través de una mirada vacía que acaba
apoderándose del transcurso de los acontecimientos. De la mano de de la Torre,
podemos conocer el trabajo de Luis Callejo que encarna al ex-presidiario Curro, personaje que batalla en una
situación donde oscila dentro de un rango emocional diverso. También aparecen en
la escena Alicia Rubio, Manolo Solo y Raúl Jiménez.
Mejor actriz en el Festival de Venecia
El pasado 11 de septiembre la actriz reinosana Ruth Díaz recibió el galardón a
la mejor intérprete femenina de la sección paralela del festival de Venecia
Orizzonti. “Mi personaje le da otro matiz”, afirmó para el diario El País. La
actriz, que llegó a los oídos de Arévalo por su entonces novia a raíz del cortometraje
‘Porsiemprejamón’, da vida a Ana, una madre que se encuentra sumida
dentro de una crisis existencial. “Lo que ocurre en la vida y en el amor es que
no todo es tan fácil y cuando empiezas a proyectar en una persona esa
necesidad de amar puede que te quites la venda y te des cuenta de que no es
como habías imaginado”, explica la cántabra que tuvo que escenificar “la
tormenta de querer al amor de su vida pero la necesidad de empezar de nuevo,
borrar el pasado y volver a amar”.

After almost a decade of waiting, Raúl
Arévalo has taken the
lead behind the cameras in his first project as a director, ‘The
Fury of a Patient Man’.
A film of crime, resentment and revenge in which a dry, decadent and turbid
atmosphere rules and where the interpretations of Antonio de la Torre, Luis
Callejo and Ruth Díaz stand out.
Year 2007, after eight years locked up in prison because
of a robbery in a jeweller, Curro has the chance of beginning a new life with
his girlfriend Ana and his son. An enthusiastic but short and failed dream due
to an unusual travel in which, accompanied by José, will have to fight with the
ghosts of the past, falling by an irremediable way in the ‘depths’ of revenge.
The new producer underlined his desire of “not making a movie of good and bad,
I wanted to make one of human beings”. “Suspense and truthfulness, powerfully
combined. A broodingly intense revenge thriller”, said Jonathan Holland
journalist of the Hollywood Reporter.
Antonio de
la Torre plays the mysterious and
enigmatic José, who is covered by the
thirst of reprisals. A journey in which grim and rough violence plays a special
importance. The actor who gave life to Paco in ‘Volver’, controls the non
verbal language with an empty look that finishes taking over of the course of
the events. By the hand of de la Torre, we can know the work of Luis Callejo who embodies the ex-prisoner
Curro, character that battles in a situation where is oscillating in a varied
emotional rank. Alicia Rubio, Manolo Solo and Raúl Jiménez are the rest of the
cast.
Best
actress in the Venice Film Festival
The last 11th of September the Spanish
actress Ruth Díaz won the award for the best feminine interpretation of the parallel
section Orizzonti, in the Venice Film Festival. “My character gives another
aspect to the production”, she declared to the newspaper El País. The actress,
who came to Arévalo´s ears because of his ex-girlfriend due to the short
‘Porsiemprejamón’, gives life to Ana, a mother who is immersed in an
existential crisis. “What happened in life and in love is that not everything
is so easy and when you start projecting in a person that need of loving him,
maybe you will take away the bandages and you will realize that it isn’t like
you had imagined”, explained the woman who had to dramatise “the storm of
loving the man of your life but the need of starting again, removing the past
and loving again”.
