Los estrenos más esperados del mes de marzo

¡Saludos y bienvenidos de nuevo a nuestro blog! Con la esperada ceremonia de los Oscars a la vuelta de la esquina y la temporada de premios llegando a su fin, esta semana decidimos mirar un poco hacia el futuro. Hoy hablaremos de algunas de las películas que ocuparán la cartelera española el próximo mes de marzo. Así que, preparen sus calendarios, porque se vienen algunas joyas cinematográficas que sin duda querrán marcar con un círculo rojo; y como de costumbre, les daremos opciones para que vayan a disfrutar también con los más pequeños.

El mes de marzo arranca bien fuerte, y es que a partir del día uno por fin podremos disfrutar de la esperada ‘Dune:Parte Dos’, la secuela de la exitosa película de ciencia ficción, tras su retraso por las huelgas en Hollywood el pasado año. Está protagonizada por Timotheé Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson o Javier Bardem, entre otros. Esta aventura espacial, Paul (Timotheé) se une a Chani (Zendaya) y a los Fremen mientras busca venganza contra los conspiradores que destruyeron a su familia. Enfrentándose a una elección entre el amor de su vida y el destino del universo, debe evitar un futuro terrible. Se trata de una adaptación de la novela de Frank Herbert, dirigida por Denis Villenueve.

Siguiendo en orden cronológico, el 8 de marzo se estrena ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’, la cuarta entrega de la famosa película de animación de 2.008. Después de tres aventuras desafiando a la muerte y derrotando a sus enemigos, Po, el Guerrero Dragón, es llamado por el destino para... tomarse un descanso. Se le pedirá algo que planteará un par de problemas para nuestro oso panda favorito. Po necesitará nueva ayuda, y en su descubrirá que los héroes pueden encontrarse en los lugares más inesperados.

‘Cazafantasmas: Imperio helado’. A partir del 22 de marzo podremos disfrutar en cines de una nueva película de la famosa franquicia, iniciada en 1984. En esta ocasión el largometraje estará protagonizado por Paul Rodd, Carrie Coon y Finn Wolfhard. La nueva historia narrará cómo la familia Spengler regresa al lugar donde empezó todo- el icónico parque de bomberos de Nueva York- para formar equipo con los Cazafantasmas originales, que han desarrollado un laboratorio de investigación secreto para llevar la caza de fantasmas al siguiente nivel. Cuando el descubrimiento de un antiguo artefacto desata una fuerza maligna, los nuevos y los viejos Cazafantasmas deben unir sus fuerzas para proteger su hogar y salvar al mundo de una segunda Edad de Hielo.

Continuamos con un producto de casa. ‘La familia Benetón’, protagonizada por Leo Harlem, es una comedia familiar que nos hará reír y pasar un buen rato junto a Toni; un soltero que siempre ha rehuido de los niños. Toni tendrá que enfrentarse a las diferencias culturales y a los retos de paternidad en el mundo moderno, y descubrirá que la verdadera familia, es la que uno elige. Será también a partir del 22 de marzo cuando podremos disfrutar de esta divertida comedia familiar.

Para terminar nuestra lista, el 27 de marzo se estrena ‘Godzilla y Kong: El nuevo imperio’, una nueva aventura que enfrentará al todopoderoso Kong y al temible Godzilla contra una amenaza desconocida escondida dentro de nuestro mundo. Dirigida por Adam Wingard.

The Most Anticipated Releases of March

Greetings and welcome back to our blog! With the eagerly awaited Oscars ceremony just around the corner and the awards season coming to an end, this week, we decided to look a bit into the future. Today, we will talk about some of the movies that will hit the Spanish cinemas next March. So, get your calendars ready because some cinematic gems are coming your way that you'll definitely want to mark with a red circle; and as usual, we'll provide options for you to enjoy with the little ones.

March kicks off strong, and starting from day one, we can finally enjoy the long-awaited 'Dune: Part Two', the sequel to the successful science fiction film, following its delay due to Hollywood strikes last year. Starring Timotheé Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem, among others, this space adventure follows Paul (Timotheé) as he joins Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremen in seeking revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the universe, he must avoid a terrible future. It is an adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel, directed by Denis Villeneuve.

Continuing in chronological order, on March 8, 'Kung Fu Panda 4' is released, the fourth installment of the famous 2008 animated film. After three adventures defying death and defeating his enemies, Po, the Dragon Warrior, is called by destiny to take a break. He will be asked for something that will pose a couple of problems for our favorite panda. Po will need new help, and in his discovery, he will realize that heroes can be found in the most unexpected places.

‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’. From March 22, we can enjoy a new film from the famous franchise, initiated in 1984. This time, the film will be starring Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, and Finn Wolfhard. The new story will narrate how the Spengler family returns to where it all began - the iconic firehouse in New York - to team up with the original Ghostbusters, who have developed a secret research laboratory to take ghost hunting to the next level. When the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an evil force, the new and old Ghostbusters must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second Ice Age.

We continue with a home product. 'The Benetón Family', starring Leo Harlem, is a family comedy that will make us laugh and have a good time with Toni; a bachelor who has always avoided children. Toni will have to face cultural differences and the challenges of parenthood in the modern world and will discover that the true family is the one you choose. We can also enjoy this fun family comedy starting from March 22.

To finish our list, on March 27, 'Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire' is released, a new adventure that will pit the all-powerful Kong against the formidable Godzilla, facing an unknown threat hidden within our world. Directed by Adam Wingard.

Los Goya 2024: Una gala “soñada” y protagonizada por ‘La sociedad de la nieve’

El pasado sábado 10 de febrero, se celebró en Valladolid la noche más importante del año para el cine español. Desde las 22:04 de la noche pudimos disfrutar de una gala emocionante, reivindicativa y divertida, presentada con maestría por los Javis (la pareja formada por Javier Ambrossi y Javier Calvo) y Ana Belén.

La 38 edición de Los Goya arrancaba con los Javis en pijama en un sofá, imaginando cómo sería su “gala soñada”, y transformándola en realidad. Así, el número que abría la gala lo protagonizaron Amaia, íntima amiga de loa Javis, y David Bisbal, interpretando ‘Mi Gran Noche’, de Raphael.

Casi 3 horas y media de gala dieron para mucho, pero hubo algunos momentos estelares de la noche que brillan un poco más en nuestros recuerdos. A continuación, haremos un pequeño repaso de lo más destacado de la noche.

Aunque está claro que fue una noche mágica para todos los nominados y premiados, hubo un claro protagonista, que eclipsó gran parte de la noche: la última obra maestra de J.A Bayona, ‘La sociedad de la nieve’.

Al arrancar la noche la película tenía 13 nominaciones, 2 menos que ’20.000 especies de abejas’, de Estíbaliz Urresola. Al concluir la gala, ‘La sociedad de la nieve’ se convertía en la tercera película más premiada de la historia de los Goya, con 12 estatuillas, solo superada por ‘¡Ay, Carmela!’ de 1990, con 13, y ‘Mar adentro’ de 2004, con 15.

Con un presupuesto estimado de 60 millones de euros, la película se hizo, de manera más que merecida, con los premios a ‘Mejor Dirección’, ‘Mejor Película’, ‘Mejor sonido’, ‘Mejor Actor Revelación’, ‘Mejor Dirección de Fotografía’, ‘Mejor montaje’, ‘Mejor Música Original’, ‘Mejor Dirección de Arte’, ‘Mejor Diseño de Vestuario’, ‘Mejor Maquillaje y Peluquería’, ‘Mejores Efectos Especiales’, y ‘Mejor Dirección de Producción’. La única estatuilla que se le escapó fue la de ‘Mejor Guion Adaptado’. En este caso, el premio fue para la historia de animación ‘Robot Dreams’, de Pablo Berger, que es precisamente la otra película que representará a España en los Oscars.

De las 12 veces que ‘La sociedad de la nieve’ se subió al escenario a recoger el premio, la que mejor recordamos fue el momento de recoger el premio a ‘Mejor Actor Revelación’. El argentino Matías Recalt pronunció un emotivo discurso de agradecimiento, en el que al final, con una voz rota, le dedicaba el premio a su padre, que falleció justo cuando el actor empezaba a trabajar en la película.

La película de Estíbaliz obtuvo 3 premios, entre ellos a ‘Mejor Dirección Novel’.

En las categorías de ‘Mejor Actor y Actriz Protagonista’ recogieron sus premios David Verdaguer por ‘Saben aquell’ y Malena Alterio por ‘Que nadie duerma’.

Sigourney Weaver recogió el ‘Goya Internacional’ de manos de su amigo J.A Bayona, y en su brillante y completo discurso, en el que, entre otras cosas, hablaba de lo orgullosa que estaba de estar ahí y de su admiración al cine español, caben destacar las palabras y el reconocimiento que le dedicó a María López, su dobladora al castellano.

Como hemos dicho, también fue una noche de reivindicaciones. Hubo alegatos contra la violencia sexual: “Aquí en el cine también se acabó…esto nos atañe a todos” sentenciaban los presentadores de la gala. No fueron pocos los artistas que también aprovecharon su momento ante el micrófono para hablar del genocidio en Gaza, defender la paz, la diversidad de raza en el cine español, o la importancia del cine en nuestra cultura y la importancia de las subvenciones.

Esto ha sido solo un pequeño resumen de la noche. The Goya Awards 2024: A "dreamed" gala starring 'Society of the Snow'.

On Saturday, February 10th, the most important night of the year for Spanish cinema took place in Valladolid. From 10:04 PM onwards, we enjoyed an exciting, assertive, and fun gala, masterfully hosted by the Javis and Ana Belén.

The 38th edition of the Goya Awards started with the Javis in pajamas on a sofa, imagining what their "dreamed gala" would be like, and turning it into reality. Thus, the opening number featured Amaia and David Bisbal, performing Raphael's 'Mi Gran Noche'.

Almost 3 and a half hours of the gala provided plenty of memorable moments, but there were some stellar moments of the night that shine a bit brighter in our memories. Below, we'll briefly review the highlights of the night.

While it's clear that it was a magical night for all nominees and winners, there was a clear protagonist that overshadowed much of the night: J.A. Bayona's latest masterpiece, 'Society of the Snow'. At the start of the night, the film had 13 nominations, 2 less than '20,000 Species of Bees' by Estíbaliz Urresola. By the end of the gala, 'Society of the Snow ' became the third most awarded film in the history of the Goya Awards, with 12 statuettes, surpassed only by '¡Ay, Carmela!'  in 1990, with 13 and 'The Sea Inside' in 2004, with 15.

With an estimated budget of 60 million euros, the film deservedly took home awards for 'Best Direction,' 'Best Film,' 'Best Sound,' 'Best Emerging Actor,' 'Best Cinematography,' 'Best Editing,' 'Best Original Music,' 'Best Art Direction,' 'Best Costume Design,' 'Best Makeup and Hairstyling,' 'Best Special Effects,' and 'Best Production Direction.' The only award that eluded it was 'Best Adapted Screenplay,' which went to the animated film 'Robot Dreams' by Pablo Berger, the other film representing Spain at the Oscars.

Of the 12 times 'The Snow Society' took the stage to receive an award, the one we remember the most was when Argentine Matías Recalt accepted the 'Best Emerging Actor' award. He delivered an emotional speech, dedicating the award to his father, who passed away just as the actor began working on the film.

Estíbaliz's film won 3 awards, including 'Best New Director.' In the categories of 'Best Actor and Actress in a Leading Role,' David Verdaguer for 'Saben aquell' and Malena Alterio for 'Something is about to happen' received their awards.

Sigourney Weaver received the 'International Goya' from her friend J.A. Bayona. In her brilliant and comprehensive speech, where she expressed pride in being there and admiration for Spanish cinema, she highlighted words of appreciation for María López, her Spanish voice actress.

As mentioned, it was also a night of advocacy. There were pleas against sexual violence: "Here in the cinema, it's over too...this concerns us all," declared the gala hosts. Many artists also took their moment at the microphone to speak about the genocide in Gaza, advocate for peace, diversity of race in Spanish cinema, or the importance of cinema in our culture and the importance of subsidies.

‘Griselda’: la nueva serie de Netflix sobre la temida narcotraficante Griselda Blanco, protagonizada y producida por Sofía Vergara.

La actriz colombiana Sofía Vergara ha producido y protagonizado esta miniserie sobre Griselda Blanco, la persona más temida por el también famoso narcotraficante Pablo Escobar. La serie se estrenó el 25 de enero en la plataforma Netflix.

Sofía Vergara, mundialmente conocida por su personaje en la comedia de 'Modern Family', deja atrás a Gloria Delgado para negociar, pelear e incluso matar. Esta serie era una de las más esperados del año dentro del catálogo de Netflix, de la mano de los creadores de 'Narcos', en la que Eric Newman (creador y guionista) y Andi Baiz (director de los seis episodios) reconstruyen la historia de "La Madrina de la Cocaína", interpretada por Sofia Vergara en su primer papel dramático, protagonista y en español

Griselda Blanco, con la que la intérprete comparte el hecho de ser inmigrante colombiana y madre soltera que llegó a EE.UU. para construir un imperio, es el punto de partida sobre el que Baiz y Newman construyen la acción. Completan el reparto Karol G, Ernesto Alterio o Alberto Ammann. 

Sofía confiesa en entrevistas que no fue un camino fácil, ya que "a veces sentía que no estaba preparada porque nunca había hecho un drama, ni todo en español, y menos aun siendo la protagonista".

Dice la artista que le ayudó mucho la increíble caracterización, en la que Vergara resulta casi irreconocible.

El cambio de registro supuso todo un reto para la actriz. "Hacer de mala es muy divertido, pero estaba muy mal acostumbrada a 'Modern Family', porque me iba feliz a casa. Cuando es algo dramático, tu cuerpo no sabe que tú no estás viviendo esas experiencias. Me iba a casa de muy mal humor porque uno se lleva todas esas sensaciones adentro del cuerpo"

Ana Griselda Blanco ha sido representada en otras series de televisión como ‘Pablo Escobar, el patrón del mal’, interpretada por Luces Velásquez, en ‘La viuda negra’ interpretada por Ana Serradilla, en ‘Griselda: la reina de la cocaina’ interpretada por Catherine Zeta-Jones, o en ‘Paraíso blanco’, interpretada por Lina Tejeiro.

Ella fue una narcotraficante y criminal colombiana, fundadora del Cartel de Medellín. Integró la cúpula del Cartel de Medellín y fue pionera del tráfico de cocaína y el crimen en Miami durante las décadas de los 70 y 80, siendo patrocinadora de Pablo Escobar en sus inicios con el narcotráfico, y controlando las redes de distribución en esa ciudad. Su alias más popular es "la Viuda Negra", ya que estuvo cascasada varias veces y fue sospechosa de haber causado las muertes de sus maridos. Fue también considerada en su momento como una de las mujeres más ricas del mundo. Fue encarcelada en 1985 por el asesinato de dos narcotraficantes cubanos, recuperando su libertad en la década de los 2000 luego de hacer un trato con el FBI. Murió asesinada en Colombia por un ajuste de cuentas.

'Griselda': The new Netflix series about the feared drug trafficker Griselda Blanco, starring and produced by Sofia Vergara.

Colombian actress Sofia Vergara has produced and starred in this miniseries about Griselda Blanco, the most feared person by the also famous drug trafficker Pablo Escobar. The series premiered on January 25th on the Netflix platform.

Sofia Vergara, globally known for her role in the comedy 'Modern Family', leaves behind Gloria Delgado to negotiate, fight, and even kill. This series was one of the most anticipated of the year within Netflix's catalog, created by the minds behind 'Narcos', with Eric Newman (creator and writer) and Andi Baiz (director of the six episodes) reconstructing the story of "The Cocaine Godmother," portrayed by Sofia Vergara in her first dramatic, leading role in Spanish.

Griselda Blanco, with whom the actress shares the experience of being a Colombian immigrant and a single mother who came to the U.S. to build an empire, serves as the starting point upon which Baiz and Newman build the action. The cast includes Karol G, Ernesto Alterio, and Alberto Ammann. Sofia confesses in interviews that it was not an easy path, as "sometimes I felt I wasn't prepared because I had never done drama, nor everything in Spanish, let alone being the protagonist."

The artist says that the incredible characterization, where Vergara is almost unrecognizable, helped her a lot. The shift in genre posed a real challenge for the actress. "Playing the villain is very fun, but I was very spoiled by 'Modern Family' because I went home happy. When it's something dramatic, your body doesn't know that you're not living those experiences. I went home in a very bad mood because you carry all those sensations inside your body."

Ana Griselda Blanco has been portrayed in other television series such as 'Pablo Escobar: The Drug Lord', played by Luces Velásquez, in ‘Black Widow’ played by Ana Serradilla, in 'Cocaine Godmother' played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, or in 'Blanco Paradise', played by Lina Tejeiro.

She was a Colombian drug trafficker and criminal, founder of the Medellín Cartel. She was part of the Medellín Cartel's leadership and was a pioneer in cocaine trafficking and crime in Miami during the 70s and 80s, sponsoring Pablo Escobar in his early days with drug trafficking and controlling distribution networks in that city. Her most popular alias is "La Viuda Negra" (The Black Widow), as she was married several times and was suspected of causing the deaths of her husbands. She was also considered one of the wealthiest women in the world. She was imprisoned in 1985 for the murder of two Cuban drug traffickers, regaining her freedom in the 2000s after making a deal with the FBI. She was murdered in Colombia in a settling of scores.

“"Abraza todo lo que viene”. Netflix presenta sus estrenos españoles del 2024 con una magnifica autopromoción.

¡Hola a todos! Esta semana os venimos a hablar de una campaña publicitaria. Más concretamente, de la gran campaña que puso en marcha Netflix el pasado mes de enero “Abraza todo lo que eres”, ideada por la agencia David Madrid.

Y es que, como ya es habitual por parte tanto de cadenas de televisión como de plataformas de streaming, este enero se han presentado las novedades que formarán parte de su programación. Este año Netflix ha lanzado una campaña de promoción extraordinaria, y el remate final lo ha puesto una pieza audiovisual protagonizada por varias de las figuras más destacadas del panorama audiovisual español.

Desde hacía ya algunos días la plataforma venía publicando en sus redes sociales bajo el hashtag #Abrazatodoloqueseviene, que ampliaba la narrativa iniciada a principios de enero de #Abrazatodoloqueeres, con la que Netflix invitaba a sus suscriptores a abrazar los diferentes espectadores que se encuentran en sí mismos a la vez que ponía de manifiesto la diversidad de su catálogo.

Fue la pasada semana cuando Netflix publicó un original spot de casi 5 minutos para promocionando su programación original de España a través de rostros como: Dani Rovira; Blanca Suárez; Belén Esteban; Candela Peña; Najwa Nimri; Clara Lago o María León, entre muchos otros.

El vídeo promocional nos muestra nuevas series como como 'Clanes', 'Asalto al Banco Central' (de Daniel Calparsoro), 'Mano de hierro', 'Manual para señoritas', 'Ni una más', el drama médico 'Respira', '1992' del Alex de la Iglesia, y 'La última noche en Tremor', lo nuevo de Oriol Paulo. Además ha presentado nuevas temporadas de series ya conocidas, como la última temporada de 'Élite' o la segunda de 'Machos Alfa'. También películas como la secuela de 'El Hoyo' o la primera película protagonizada por Aitana, 'Pared con pared', tras su debut como actriz en la serie de Disney+ 'La última'. Y por supuesto, también se le ha hecho hueco a los documentales, como 'La Liga 24', centrado en la Primera División de nuestro fútbol, los entresijos en la cocina del chef Dabiz Muñoz, o la nueva temporada de 'Soy Georgina', entre otros.

A nosotros lo que más nos ha gustado del spot han sido las partes de Dani Rovira, en las que se utiliza el recurso de que es conocido por principalmente por trabajar en comedia para adelantar que este año le veremos haciendo algo diferente en ‘El campeón’, la nueva película de Carlos Therón.

Muy pronto podremos empezar a disfrutar de estos estrenos de producción propia. Este mismo 9 de febrero se estrena la nueva temporada de ‘Machos Alfa’, dirigida por los hermanos Caballero.

A nosotros esta campaña ha conseguido despertarnos las ganas por ver todo lo que se viene, ¡estamos ansiosos!

"Embrace everything that's coming." Netflix presents its Spanish releases for 2024 with a magnificent self-promotion.

Hello everyone! This week we come to talk to you about an advertising campaign. More specifically, about the great campaign that Netflix launched last January "Embrace everything that you are", devised by the David Madrid agency.

And it is that, as is already customary on the part of both television networks and streaming platforms, this January the novelties that will be part of their programming have been presented. This year Netflix has launched an extraordinary promotional campaign, and the final touch has been a audiovisual piece starring several of the most prominent figures in the Spanish audiovisual scene.

For several days now, the platform had been publishing on its social networks under the hashtag #Embraceeverythingthat'scoming, which expanded the narrative initiated in early January of #Embraceeverythingthatyouare, with which Netflix invited its subscribers to embrace the different viewers that they find within themselves while highlighting the diversity of its catalog.

What we liked the most about the spot were the parts with Dani Rovira, in which the resource is used that he is known primarily for working in comedy to advance that this year we will see him doing something different in 'The Champion', the new movie by Carlos Therón.

Very soon we will be able to start enjoying these in-house productions. This same February 9th the new season of 'Alpha Males', directed by the Caballero brothers, premieres.
