BILLY ELLIOT EL MUSICAL LLEGA A MADRID


Adaptado y dirigido por David Serrano, y producida por Som Produce
Billy Elliot, el musical’, narra una historia basada en la película británica ‘Billy Elliot’ (Stephen Daldry) estrenada en el año 2000.
Su primer estreno fue en el año 2005 en Victoria Theatre de Londres, con un total de 80 premios internacionales, incluyendo diez Tonys y cinco Oliver.
Se ha interpretado en otras ciudades como Brodway, Melbourne, Chicago, Toronto, Seúl (Corea del Sur), Holanda y Sao Paulo (Brasil).

El escenario del musical se sitúa en la historia de Inglaterra entre 1984-1985 y localizado en una ciudad del norte del país. Narra la lucha de un niño adolescente en contra de los acontecimientos para alcanzar su sueño. En su recorrido pasa de un ring de boxeo a una academia de ballet, donde descubre su talento y ofrece una nueva forma de inspiración a la comunidad minera y cambia su vida para siempre.

La obra musical cuenta con música compuesta por Elton John, como ‘Electricity’ o ‘Angry Dance’. Letras de Lee Hall, quien también fue guionista de la película. Parte del guión está basado en la novela de A.J. CroninThe Stars Look Down”. La canción que abre el musical llamada ‘Stars Look Down’ está basada en esta novela.

Adaptada y dirigida por David Serrano y coreografía de Peter Darling. Producida por Som Produce, responsable de las actuales producciones “Priscilla” y “Cabaret”. Es una compañía española formada por Vértigo Tours S.L. y Madrid Bangkok S.L. Es la empresa productora independiente más importante en la ciudad de Madrid, gestionando y programando el Teatro Rialto (Gran Vía, 54), el Nuevo Teatro Alcalá (Jorge Juan esquina calle Alcalá) y el Teatro Calderón (Atocha, 18).
La obra se podrá ver solo en Madrid, en Teatro Rialto, debido a las exigencias puestas en escena, a partir de septiembre del 2017.
