Los estrenos que llenarán las salas de cine este mes de mayo

Como con cada comienzo de mes, nos gusta hacer un resumen de los mejores estrenos de este. Mayo viene cargado con infinidad de estrenos que, sin duda, nos dejarán pegados a las butacas del cine, y nosotros te contamos cuáles son los más esperados. 

En la primera semana del mes contamos con un total de 11 estrenos de todo tipo de géneros. Entre ellos, destacan títulos como “Asedio” dirigida por Miguel Ángel Vivas o “Las buenas compañías” de Silvia Munt. “Asedio” muestra la vida de Dani, un agente antidisturbios que se encuentra a escasas semanas de ser desahuciado. Pero la suerte parece de estar de su lado (o no) cuando en pleno desalojo, una gran cantidad de dinero llega a parar a las manos de Dani. Dicho dinero pertenece a la mafia del realojo, que explota inmigrantes sin recursos. Dani descubre que son sus propios compañeros de trabajo quienes han organizado todo la operación para repartirse el botín. 

“Las buenas compañías”, por otro lado, muestra la vida de Bea, una joven de 16 años en el verano de 1976. La protagonista se ve inmersa en los movimientos de cambios que se están comenzando a dar en el país. Pero no solo ocurren cambios fuera, algo dentro de Bea está empezando a cambiar, sobretodo a raíz de entablar una gran amistad con Miren, una chica de buen estatus social. La situación se vuelve más tensa cuando los intereses personales y políticos se interponen en medio de esta amistad. 

La segunda semana también viene cargada de estrenos, un total de 15 ni más ni menos. Entre todos estos títulos se podrían destacar “Love Again” dirigida por Jim Strouse que cuenta la historia de una mujer que acaba de perder trágicamente al amor de su vida y su futuro prometido. Sin llegar a superar su perdida, empieza a enviar mensajes de texto al antiguo número de teléfono de su pareja difunta. Para su sorpresa, el número ha sido reasignado a otro hombre que vive en la otra punta de la ciudad y que, como ella, también ha sufrido un desamor similar. Ambos deciden conocerse e inmediatamente sienten una conexión innegable. Pero no son capaces de olvidar el pasado. No al menos, hasta que la música de Celine Dion entra en escena y ayuda a romper esa barrera que los separa.

Pero tranquilo, si eres más fan del terror que del drama, no te preocupes, también hay estrenos para ti. Esta semana también llega a la gran pantalla “Slasher” de Alberto Armas Díaz. Esta cuenta la historia de Julio, un joven al que su madre le regala por su 18 cumpleaños una máscara como la que utilizaba su padre para cometer asesinatos. Julio se verá envuelto en una encrucijada en la que deberá elegir entre seguir con el legado psicópata de su familia o abrazar el amor por Úrsula, una chica que acaba de llegar al pueblo.  

La tercera semana se presenta con 13 estrenos más. De entre ellos, destacan “Los Caballeros del Zodíaco” de Tomasz Baginski. Una película de acción real basada en la saga anime “Los Caballeros del Zodíaco”. Cuando el joven y testarudo Seiya descubre que tiene poderes místicos, se adentrará en un nuevo mundo de Caballeros Santos en guerra. Entonces, recibirá un entrenamiento mágico para proteger a una diosa reencarnada. Su supervivencia dependerá de sacrificarlo todo y entrar a formar parte del lugar que le corresponde entre los Caballeros del Zodíaco.

Esta semana también contará con el esperado estreno de “Fast & Furious X” dirigida por Zach Braff. La última entrega de esta famosísima saga de películas llegará el 19 de mayo. En ella podremos ver a Dom Toretto y su familia, quienes no pueden llevar una vida tranquila como desean y se ven obligados a formar un equipo para sobrevivir. Ahora, se han convertido en el principal objetivo del hijo del narcotraficante Hernán Reyes, quién clama venganza. En esta última entrega podremos disfrutar una última vez de la mayor adrenalina, velocidad y acción de la mano de su gran protagonista: Vin Diesel. 

Para finalizar el mes, la última semana no es menos que las otras y contará con un total de 8 estrenos, entre los que destacan “La Sirenita”, el live action, dirigido por Bob Marshall, que tanta polémica ha generado desde su primer anuncio. La película mostrará las aventuras de la princesa Ariel y sus amigos marinos con un gran reparto de estupendos actores como Halle Bailey o Melissa McCarthy. Sin duda es Disney le está cogiendo el gustillo a los live action. Esta semana habrá otros estrenos como “Quédate a mi lado” dirigida por Michael Showalter, “Padre soldado” de Mathieu Vadepied, “El colibrí” de Francesca Archibugi o “La pecera” dirigida por Glorimar Marrero. 

Con la cantidad de estrenos que tendrán lugar a lo largo de este mes, seguro que hay más de una película que nos despierta curiosidad. Desde aquí os animamos a ir al cine y disfrutar de la experiencia única que se vive en las butacas de esas salas, con sonido envolvente e inversivo y una pantalla gigante proyectando las imágenes. ¿Qué mejor plan para un rato libre?

The premieres that will fill cinemas this May

As with every beginning of the month, we like to make a summary of the best premieres of it. May is loaded with countless premieres that will undoubtedly leave us glued to the cinema seats, and we tell you which are the most anticipated. 

In the first week of the month we have a total of 11 premieres of all kinds of genres. Among them, titles such as "Asedio" directed by Miguel Ángel Vivas or "Las buenas compañías" by Silvia Munt stand out. "Asedio" shows the life of Dani, a riot police officer who is just weeks away from being evicted. But luck seems to be on his side (or not) when in the middle of the eviction, a large amount of money ends up in Dani's hands. The money belongs to the relocation mafia, which exploits immigrants without resources. Dani discovers that it is his own co-workers who have organized the whole operation to share the loot.

"Las buenas compañías", on the other hand, shows the life of Bea, a 16-year-old girl in the summer of 1976. The protagonist is immersed in the movements of change that are beginning to take place in the country. But changes are not only happening outside, something inside Bea is beginning to change, especially after she strikes up a great friendship with Miren, a girl of good social status. The situation becomes more tense when personal and political interests get in the way of this friendship. 

The second week is also loaded with premieres, a total of 15, no more and no less. Among all these titles we could highlight "Love Again" directed by Jim Strouse, which tells the story of a woman who has just tragically lost the love of her life and her future fiancé. Never getting over her loss, she begins to send text messages to her deceased partner's old phone number. To her surprise, the number has been reassigned to another man who lives across town and who, like her, has also suffered a similar heartbreak. The two decide to meet and immediately feel an undeniable connection. But they are unable to forget the past. Not until Celine Dion's music enters the scene and helps to break down the barrier that separates them. 

But don't worry, if you're more of a horror fan than a drama fan, don't worry, there are releases for you too. Also hitting the big screen this week is "Slasher" by Alberto Armas Diaz. It tells the story of Julio, a young man whose mother gives him a mask for his 18th birthday, like the one his father used to commit murder. Julio will find himself at a crossroads where he will have to choose between continuing his family's psychopathic legacy or embracing love for Úrsula, a girl who has just arrived in town. 

The third week features 13 new releases. Among them, Tomasz Baginski's "Knights of the Zodiac" stands out. A live-action film based on the anime saga “Knights of the Zodiac". When the young and stubborn Seiya discovers he has mystical powers, he will enter a new world of warring Holy Knights. He will then receive magical training to protect a reincarnated goddess. His survival will depend on sacrificing everything to take his rightful place among the Knights of the Zodiac. 

This week will also feature the highly anticipated premiere of “Fast X" directed by Zach Braff. The latest installment of this very famous movie saga will arrive on May 19. In it we will be able to see Dom Toretto and his family, who cannot lead a quiet life as they wish and are forced to form a team to survive. Now, they have become the main target of the son of drug trafficker Hernan Reyes, who is out for revenge. In this last installment we will be able to enjoy one last time the greatest adrenaline, speed and action from the hand of its great protagonist: Vin Diesel. 

To end the month, the last week is no less than the others and will feature a total of 8 premieres, including "The Little Mermaid", the live action film directed by Bob Marshall, which has generated so much controversy since its first announcement. The movie will show the adventures of Princess Ariel and her sea friends with a great cast of wonderful actors such as Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy. Undoubtedly, Disney is getting a taste for live action. This week there will be other premieres such as "Quédate a mi lado" directed by Michael Showalter, "Tirailleurs" by Mathieu Vadepied, “Il colibrì" by Francesca Archibugi or "La pecera" directed by Glorimar Marrero.

With the amount of premieres that will take place throughout this month, there is sure to be more than one film that arouses our curiosity. From here we encourage you to go to the movies and enjoy the unique experience that is lived in the seats of these theaters, with surround and inverse sound and a giant screen projecting images. What better plan for a free time?
