HIJOS DE LAS NUBES, EL DOCUMENTAL DE JAVIER BARDEM EN LOS GOYA.

Javier Bardem es candidato al mejor documental, siendo productor, guía y cocreador de Hijos de las Nubes. La últimacolonia, dirigida por Álvaro Longoria. En este filme se describe el sufrimiento del pueblo saharaui. Bardem sigue unido a la causa, sigue implicado tras el documental en la lucha: “A lo largo de estos tres años [desde que acabó su rodaje] se han producido pequeños cambios, algunos esperanzadores, como que el Congreso de Estados Unidos exigiese una mejora en los derechos humanos de los saharauis antes de renovar su apoyo militar a Marruecos, o que la Unión Europea interrumpiera su acuerdo de pesca con Marruecos en las aguas que pertenecen al Sáhara Occidental. Sin embargo, en abril de 2012, la Minurso, la Misión de Naciones Unidas en el Sáhara Occidental, ha sido renovada sin un mandato que les permita defender los derechos humanos de los saharauis”, tal como ha escrito a un cuestionario de El País.

Continúa llamando la atención: “En los próximos meses vamos a proyectar el documental en la sede de Naciones Unidas de Ginebra y de Nueva York, en el Capitolio, en el Parlamento Federal Australiano, y seguimos recorriendo festivales internacionales. Nuestro objetivo es que lo vea el mayor número de gente posible. Cada vez que hemos hecho un coloquio después de una proyección del documental, hemos visto cómo una gran parte del público no sabía nada, o sabía muy poco, de la situación de los saharauis, y de la responsabilidad que tiene España como antigua potencia colonizadora. Por desgracia no hemos visto muchos cambios en su situación, pero es esperanzador ver cómo reaccionan los espectadores. Es emocionante”.

Piensa Bardem, que los saharauis no usarán las metralletas para llamar la atención: “Siempre se han distinguido de otros movimientos nacionalistas porque desde que firmaron la paz en 1991 han respetado los términos del acuerdo, y han luchado por sus derechos de forma no violenta. La mejor arma de los saharauis es continuar así”.

También se muestra orgulloso de que haya sido elegida la película como finalista. Ya que es un reconocimiento al trabajo realizado. Y sobretodo, se alegran porque es motivo para que se siga hablando del tema. Así más gente será consciente de la situación vivida por el pueblo saharaui.
