Antonio Vega, tu voz entre otras mil

Cuando de la vida de un artista consagrado trata el documento compilador de las vivencias y obras del mismo, la expectación creada al respecto será directamente proporcional al éxito cosechado por éste a lo largo de su carrera artística, y en cierta medida, a lo poco que haya trascendido de las vicisitudes provocadoras de curiosidad acerca de la vida privada del artista. Igualmente es obligado apuntar que estas ansias de hincar el diente al documento en cuestión ganarán muchos enteros si el protagonista se marchó de este mundo a una edad temprana por motivos que añaden más morbo si cabe al texto biográfico.

Paloma Concejero, responsable de programas de televisión como El álbum de la semana y Ochéntame otra vez, se pone a los mandos esta vez de un proyecto de tipo documental con la intención de acercarnos a los entresijos que rodearon la vida de un talento musical contemporáneo del que este mes se ha cumplido el 5º aniversario de su fallecimiento. Antonio Vega, tu voz entre otras mil, pretende saciar a  los fans más exigentes cuando de querer desentrañar esas circunstancias vitales íntimas se trata.

Cuatro años de investigación, de recopilar trocitos de existencia, de reflexiones del propio protagonista, de amigos y familiares, de compañeros de profesión que aportan esto o aquello que trasciende de simple anécdota para convertirse en materia fundamental (a pesar de contradicciones en algunos datos y puntos de vista que disienten), para entender mejor ese universo tan íntimo y personal tan propio del artista madrileño.

Documentos de la infancia que el doctor Vega, padre de Antonio, aporta en formato de viejas cintas en súper 8, ilustrándonos en una de las etapas más felices a las que el músico tantas veces  hacía alusión,  incluso en alguna de sus composiciones: “ojalá me condenaran  a la niñez…”, de Pasa el otoño.

La voz de Antonio, esencial por otra parte, a través de la grabadora del escritor Bosco Ussía, se suma a este puzle biográfico con las que la directora va construyendo lo que de alguna manera fue la vida y milagros de un individuo que cumplió su sueño, el cual no pudo arrebatarle la heroína, representada con acierto aquí por las tétricas imágenes de El gabinete del doctor Caligari,  sombras que lo envolvieron hasta que apagaron su luz (el 12 de mayo de 2009).

Retrato intimista y personal donde quizá falten muchos más minutos de metraje para albergar tanta y tan intensa experiencia vital, pero que es plausible sin embargo la composición resultante si la pretensión primigenia era la de aleccionarnos sobre los gozos y las sombras de uno de los talentos musicales imprescindibles de los últimos tiempos. Según declaraciones de la propia autora, Antonio Vega podría definirse en tres palabras: extraterrestre, sensible y aventurero.

Antonio Vega, a voice among a thousand.

When the life of a renowned artist is the main topic of a compiler document of experiences and works, the expectation created in this regard will be directly proportional to the success achieved by him throughout his artistic career, and to some extent, to the little that has emerged the provocative vicissitudes of curiosity about the private life of the artist. Likewise, we have to point that this wish to sink the teeth into the document in question will gain many integers if the protagonist left this world at an early age for reasons that add more morbidity if possible to the biographical text.

Paloma Concejero, responsible for television shows such as "El Album De La Semana" and "Ochentame Otra Vez", runs this time  a documentary project with the intention to approach us to the hidden aspects surrounding the life of a musical talent contemporary of the one whose 5^th death anniversary will be this month. "Antonio Vega, tu voz entre otras mil", aims to satisfy the most demanding fans by figuring out the private vital circumstances.

Four years of research, gathering bits of existence, of reflections of the own protagonist, friends and family, colleagues who provide this or that which goes beyond a simple anecdote to become a fundamental matter (despite contradictions in some data and points of view that disagree), to better understand this universe so intimate and personal typical from the artist born in Madrid.
 

Documents of the childhood that doctor Vega, father of Antonio, brings in old films in super 8 format, showing us a happier period to which the musician often referred, even in some of his compositions: "Ojalá me condenaran a la niñez…” (in English: I wish I would be condemned to childhood) from the song “Pasa  El Otoño”.

The voice of Antonio, on the other hand essential, through the recorder of the writter Bosco Ussía, joins this biographical puzzle with which the director builds what in some ways was the life and miracles of an individual who fulfilled his dream, which heroin couldn´t wrest, represented here by the gloomy images of "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari", shadows that wrapped him until they shut off his light (12 May 2009).

Intimate and personal portrait that maybe misses many more minutes of footage to show such an intense life experience, nevertheless is reasonable the resulting composition, if the original claim was to lecture us about the joys and hadows of one of the essential musical talents of recent times. According to statements by the author herself, Antonio Vega could be defined in three words: alien, sensitive and adventurous.
